October and November each year, I just gotta block off everything from my calendar and say it is intense events. And of course a big highlight is DCBKK annual conference by the Dynamite Circle community.
Each year in Bangkok, we get to gather for multiple days of meetups, round tables, masterminds, and speaker sessions.
I try to share at meetups each year and this 2024’s I shared about learning from China ecommerce, and hacks and strategies for ecommerce sellers to go global.
Yet I really go to network and reconnect with old friends and contacts – some for over a decade now.
Day 0: Arrival
Back at the digital nomad movement event. Always inspired when I attend the DCBKK events, I’ve lost count now on how many I have attended (maybe I’ve missed 2 or 3 in the 12 years).
Why do I go?
Inspiration, motivation.
At this point I am meeting new business people and I’m the “old guy” learning from the young guys.
Starting right when I landed at DMK airport, my DC water bottle stuck out and a shared a nice ride to the conference area.
Using it also as a yearly checkin. How was I last year and where am I now. So much has happened in 1 year. What is even more wild is thinking back to when I first started coming and the differences now.
In the midst of day 1 and 2
Typing this up in the midst of day 1 and 2 – this event does get some various styles from the more information Thursday, the mastermind Friday (I opted out this year’s) – which those who don’t do it can have a free day – and then the event officially starts on Saturday with opening, testimonials, and some inspirational speakers.
Breakout rooms always help as I and others can choose what sessions they would like to participate in and can have a wider variety of learning. I look at the speaker and their background to really understand how much I will get from it as I know a bunch of people and almost pick those I know 😉
A bit unlucky this year with the rain on most of the evenings so the opening pool party was brought inside the ballroom, but still the high caliber of attendees really does make things impactful.
