Eminem is More Motivational Then Ever

In travel by Michael Michelini4 Comments

I’m not going to attempt to say I’m an expert in the rap scene – I just follow what’s playing on the radio, club, bar – But I remember Eminem back when he came out, and I was in high school – he was derogative, slanderous, disrespectful, etc etc – It was rather hilarious and got him a lot of press and attention! But now he seems to “matured” and has much more “meat” in his songs – motivating his audience.

I think that is the way the world is going, I know I’m not an expert in the music and entertainment industry, but all the songs that seem to be hitting the top of the charts these days are POSITIVE, INSPIRATIONAL, MOTIVATIONAL.

Either Eminem is changing personally, or he / his agent realize he has to make this type of music now in order to sell more records. Maybe its a combination of both.

I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road

(Intro)

Yeah, It’s been a ride…
I guess I had to go to that place to get to this one
Now some of you might still be in that place
If you’re trying to get out, just follow me
I’ll get you there

(Verse 1)

You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay ’em
But you won’t take this thing out these words before I say ’em
Cause ain’t no way I’m let you stop me from causing mayhem
When I say ’em or do something I do it, I don’t give a damn
What you think, I’m doing this for me, so f-ck the world
Feed it beans, it’s gassed up, if a thing’s stopping me
I’mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly
And all those who look down on me I’m tearing down your balcony
No if ands or buts don’t try to ask him why or how can he
From Infinite down to the last Relapse album he’s still shit’n
Whether he’s on salary, paid hourly
Until he bows out or he shit’s his bowels out of him
Whichever comes first, for better or worse
He’s married to the game, like a f-ck you for christmas
His gift is a curse, forget the earth he’s got the urge
To pull his dick from the dirt and f-ck the universe

(Hook)

I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road

(Verse 2)
Ok quit playin’ with the scissors and shit, and cut the crap
I shouldn’t have to rhyme these words in the rhythm for you to know it’s a rap
You said you was king, you lied through your teeth
For that f-ck your feelings, instead of getting crowned you’re getting capped
And to the fans, I’ll never let you down again, I’m back
I promise to never go back on that promise, in fact
Let’s be honest, that last Relapse CD was “ehhhh”
Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground

Relax, I ain’t going back to that now
All I’m tryna say is get back, click-clack BLAOW
Cause I ain’t playin’ around
There’s a game called circle and I don’t know how
I’m way too up to back down
But I think I’m still tryna figure this crap out
Thought I had it mapped out but I guess I didn’t
This f-cking black cloud still follow’s me around
But it’s time to exercise these demons
These motherf-ckers are doing jumping jacks now!

(Hook)

I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road

(Bridge)

And I just can’t keep living this way
So starting today, I’m breaking out of this cage
I’m standing up, Imma face my demons
I’m manning up, Imma hold my ground
I’ve had enough, now I’m so fed up
Time to put my life back together right now

(Verse 3)

It was my decision to get clean, I did it for me
Admittedly I probably did it subliminally for you
So I could come back a brand new me, you helped see me through
And don’t even realize what you did, believe me you
I been through the ringer, but they can do little to the middle finger
I think I got a tear in my eye, I feel like the king of
My world, haters can make like bees with no stingers, and drop dead
No more beef flingers, no more drama from now on, I promise
To focus solely on handling my responsibility’s as a father
So I solemnly swear to always treat this roof like my daughters and raise it
You couldn’t lift a single shingle on it
Cause the way I feel, I’m strong enough to go to the club
Or the corner pub and lift the whole liquor counter up
Cause I’m raising the bar, I shoot for the moon
But I’m too busy gazing at stars, I feel amazing and

(Hook)

I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road

  1. sure his music sounds good and he wrote an inspirational song but eminem has a long way to go before he earns my respect.

sure he’s turning himself around and maybe trying to stay clean and at least he’s not picking on anyone in this song. I just hate to hear him whine about how he got bullied and how tough he had it, but in his songs he steps on people, picks on and steps on other famous people, just to create controversy, to sell, that’s all he’s about. he’s in it for the money. he’s in it for fame., he’s in it for himself, he says “I’m doing this for me, so f the world”. hes selfish and before he starts realizing that he should do it for not only himself but for his daughter, for the neighborhood he grew up in and for his fans – he isn’t anything.

  2. I always drew a lot of energy and had a lot of respect for what Eminem sang. His work always seemed real. By that I mean there is no shortage in the world of music today of people singing from a script… sort to speak – there isn’t any truth to the words – their is no meaning or significance in their own lives. It’s hollow music meant only to engage on a superficial level, get you dancing, wobbling you head or whatever.

I believe a true performer leaves part of themselves on the stage after every performance – and the audience can feel that

Eminem’s emotion came through in all his music and I always felt that was real – an act of raw expression – nothing fabricated. He sings who he is and what he feels – not near-automatically produced beats and words manufactured from a popularity algorithm driven machine. Sing and perform what’s real for you – or STFU – that’s how I feel when it comes to music.

It really isn’t about the money – people are always chasing after success… what they should realize is success is always chasing excellence… pursue excellence and success will chase you! – got that bit from a bollywood flick 🙂
