Passion: Meetups and Community Building, the Chiang Mai Ecommerce Sellers

In blog, e-commerce, Events, vlog by Michael Michelini

Typing this up the day after the regular Chiang Mai ecommerce meetup we do. Was going to leave my vlog camera home but my smart and amazing wife Wendy said I should take it with me.

And glad I did.

One of our favorite meetups to date – 25ish people from all over the world, all different levels of ecommerce from beginning to multi-million. This is what it’s all about.

Yet, it is hard to measure the “ROI” as it is a free meetup. Sure we could try to charge a small entrance fee, etc etc – but we just like to do it.

Will, our current co-organizer is awesome and was as amazed as I was on the great turnout. We have been doing it at Atelier coworking/coliving space – https://events.globalfromasia.com/atelier which is a little bit hidden in the lush green jungle, but you can find eventually.

The thing about Chiang Mai, it is such a nomadic place. People come, people go. Burning season comes, and a lot of people leave. And then a new batch of people come.

A bit of an adjustment from Shenzhen, China – but we have been adapting. Going with the flow. That is what life is about – and we keep it free flowing and a bit of introductions to start it off, then a round table discussion on topics, and then break into smaller groups based on the various topics and requests people have.

We also have been growing the community list at our event pages on https://events.globalfromasia.com where people can register and then keep up to date.

The big lead up is our conference Cross Border Summit – Nov 3-5, 2024 at https://2024.crossbordersummit.com where the established sellers and business owners can come to learn and network and give back to the efforts on these free meetups.

And the big, big play is the Loadpipe ecommerce ecosystem with the first marketplace Hamza being launched in a few months.

In life, you cannot predict the future, you need to do your best to build it as it comes at you.
