What Mike Michelini is up to Now – Sept 4 – 10, 2022

“Recovering” still from last week “family migration” from China to Thailand. Still a ton to do (the car we had has a ton of problems to fix, still searching for a place to live, etc), but the huge chunks of the migration are done – WE MADE IT and have a 2 year visa here for the entire family.

This week:
* House hunting, home school “config” with GFA kids.
* Onboarding new team – Andrea social media, May local Thai coordination (and connecting with our team)
* Preparing “Shadstone 5.0” – we are in Shadstone 4.0 (Shadstone as a company has been in existence since March 2007, has gone through a lot). And working on introducing version 5.0

Probably so much more ! Visa passport conversion, etc etc. Taking it 1 step at a time.

Week Plan Sept 4 – 10, 2022 Shadstone Limited

Typing this up from a kitchen table of a bed and breakfast in Chiang Mai – almost 1 week now since departing from China. Last week was a transition and hopefully this week will start to catch up on things. It is also a USA holiday tomorrow (Monday sept 5) called Labor Day – so things should be a bit quieter for us (and let me catch up on work more).

We had an amazing Flamingo Handshake live auction (online and offline) this past Saturday morning, really showing the amazing leadership of Anne and the team and the systems and the tech. I think most of us know – it takes years to setup an amazing team, systems, and trust – but once we have it – the public eye will be so amazed (confused) at how we are able to do so much, do so great.

Believe also now that I was able to safely and long term get my family out of China (what a struggle) – for a long term stay in Thailand (2 year visa) – will be more confident to do more crypto and NFT work. Also strongly believe the next year NFT and ecommerce will merge through the metaverse.

Next week I’ll be hosting 2 panels for a HK online/offline Metaverse event – Scaleup Impact Summit. Also booking a couple “MMBrand” power hour consultations for Amazon + for Handshake.

Just see all of this converging – years ago – and it is still a ways away – but combined with the variables at play – we are positioning ourselves for this long term as a market leader.

EVENTS – we are good at EVENTS – and on our marketing dept call last week (or was it the management call?), we discussed using events more for our Amazon FBA ecommerce.

We also should start to prepare for Cross Border Matchmaker, Cross Border Summit (in Thailand?), HandyCon (in Thailand?), and start to create some “niche” events for our veriticals (online bartending competition for bar products, women empowerment events for Akitai, etc)

Team grows! And Evolves
Also last week we onboarded 2 new people – Andrea for our social media marketing, and May for our local Thai coordination (and evolving her role as we get settled here).

There is more turnover with people putting in notices. We are keeping a close eye on the reasons, and thinking of the best way to retain all of our amazing team. You are all appreciated and we want to find ways to work long term for win-win. Soo please talk to HR / management / me / whomever you feel comfortable if you’re not happy.

We are a creative agency – we need creative people! And I strongly believe will start to EXPONENTIALLY be more creative as we wind up the rest of this year.
