Can you believe it? I don’t think it is possible, but the last week of January I am going to try to not check my computer or my phone – at least not too much.
It is Chinese New Year anyway, so most of China is on lock down and closed for business. But normally I’m working on website development or internet marketing during the time. Yet Wendy convinced me I need to take some time and just not think about work.
I love work, I love what I do. So I don’t know how I will be able to take a week off.
Well, I will keep writing. I want to keep that as a daily habit.
Where am I Going?
Going to be going to Wendy’s friend’s guest house a couple hours drive from Shenzhen. Near the “Beach” – but it is so cold. There won’t even be internet in this quaint little Chinese city. I’ll probably video blog at least once, just to have this documented.
What am I going to do?
Will just be Maggie, Wendy, and me. Probably read a ton of books loaded up on my Kindle to be honest, write a lot of notes, reflect on the last year , the last few years as a husband and a father, and mentally prepare for the next 5 years, 10 years, and lifetime ahead.
Honestly, I don’t know what I am going to do? I’ll be sitting on my hands probably with Wendy grabbing the laptop from me – or should I just leave the laptop at home. That is too extreme for me. Plus maybe some troll reading this and gonna mess with me 😉
How do you unplug, take a vacation?
I wonder how you guys unplug. Really, I just love working – love internet marketing, website marketing, and thinking about business strategy. It will be close to impossible for me to really not think about it. I’ll try to meditate even more.
And Happy Chinese New Year – Year of the Cock (My Year!)
So also, happy Lunar New Year. It is quite close to the Solar (Western) new year this year – so January has been a bit of a slow month with work starting and stopping and starting. The coming Chinese New Year will be the Chicken (rooster) or cock year. Wendy and I are both cocks, born in 1981 – and it is our year. It will be the first year it is my Chinese New Year calendar year when I’m living in China, and I am so excited.
2017 has already been an amazing year, and there will be a ton more to go. Stay positive, reflect, and let me enjoy my time to unplug a bit.
