A family vlog. Taking you with me as a family of 4 takes an hour’s drive outside of Chiang Mai to go camping.
We had a nice pit stop at an elephant cafe where we could enjoy some snacks and drinks and feed the elephants.
This was high-end luxury camping though – 2 story house with a full bathroom and lounge area downstairs, and a large tent upstairs with 3 mattresses for the family.
It was a Christmas theme camping trip, with the event opening for check-in between 2-4pm, and then dinner at 530pm.
Each family had their own BBQ area to grill and enjoy the open field of other families. Various meats, and sides, we could relax and enjoy. We discussed how this year has been good to us, we moved to a new house, school has been going well for both Miles and Maggie, Wendy has optimized the GFAkids online learning platform, and I have been getting the various ecommerce brands and startups stabilizing after years of struggle.
So we had a toast and enjoyed a rather “high-end” experience together as a family.
Then there was a movie on the big screen in the field, overlooking the mountains. And roasting marshmallows at the campfire.
Thinking and reflecting – how much I have been away from my family this year.
Thinking how many years I have been away from my family back in America. And how much more time I may be away as well.
These are experiences I must invest more in. As the kids are growing up so fast, at 8 and 10 years old – they will be teenagers soon and more and more independent.
Life really flies by – and I am trying to capture some special moments before it is gone. Will come back to this vlog in a decade and see that my kids are 18 and 20 years old and I wonder where the world will be by then.
Treasure these times. Treasure every day you have here.
All the best for 2025, sending all my best to you and yours.
