Happy Memorial Day for those in USA. Last Friday was a holiday in Hong Kong, so 2 places we do a decent amount of communication with is on/off holidays at the same time.

Yet work is what we do, and it is Sunday morning and I’m here in Bangkok hotel typing this up. Trying to move from my “covid introvert” self back to “business development” and flew down to Bangkok (1 hour flight) to make some in person meetings with people I have either never met or not met in years.

The short list this week:
* Listening to Handshake community – pushed out a “shake up” video about a hard fork of Handshake and it has stirred up discussion. Trying to listen and see – hope we can adapt and grow.
* On top of that – Seems a flamingo auction (not sure if we can pull it off to be honest) and MigsMachine putting together a Twitter space, thanks for the initiative!
* Ecommerce department upgrade – Jm joining, more systems, more channels, more growth.
* Cross Border Summit ongoing promotion, speaker coordination, sponsorship discussions. Just part of the weekly flow until Nov 16-17, 2023 when it all comes together.
* Deal making – pushing ahead on various deals. Trying to aim bigger.

For those who want to hear the full week plan for Shadstone Limited, Mike’s company (removing sensitive info) – here it is:

Week Plan May 28 – June 3, 2023 Shadstone Limited

Doing a bit of a BD (business development) weekend trip in Bangkok – living the “2 lives” we live here recently at Shadstone – meeting some good contacts in the web3/handshake/crypto site (Chjango / Daniel), and also meeting some great Amazon FBA seller contacts.

Just still 2 separate worlds without much overlap. Working hard – as have been since covid, to bridge these 2 world. Hope to make public announcement in early to mid June about this.

Last week we had our monthly team call which was fun. Curious if more on the team are able to join as it is a good chance to connect “As if we are in real person”.

Macky studying hard the GFA community documents, thanks for the help as always Sally. Hope he can start to take some burden off our client services / community management department(s) – honestly always wonder how to relate these 2 departments. Just think they have to work hand in hand and share similar roles and responsiblities. Look forward to seeing how this department and the team optimizes the workflow.

Handshake / web3 – shaking things up about a hard fork discussion. Do think change is needed and while the terms are not fully clear – we in the hns community need to adapt and grow. Do not believe if we stay the way we are it will just “Work out”.

Financials – my weakness for sure. Working closely with Martha and Febby trying to fix our complex business relationships between our various projects – gfakids being a top complexity.

Amazon and ecommerce – JM will be joining next week. We are looking to go multi channel. Also worry Amazon keeps sending verification alerts which is so scary.

* Marketing + ecommerce closer collaboration – I liked seeing the initiative last week. Let’s keep thinking of ways to better connect our marketing team and our ecommerce team of ninjas.

Meeting Andres this weekend in Bangkok as well. Still sorting out our Thailand sourcing and optimization flows. But do feel we are making massive progress with our team, our partners, our systems – and to me that is the most important as that is the long term value. Still some horrible speed bumps (our stolen goods in LA warehouse), but we are improving and optimizing.

Marketing – love seeing initiative and cross department discussions between our marketing ninja team (Anne) and our ecommerce ninjas (Christian) on ways to better utilize the marketing for boosting the Amazon.

Overall, leadership, systems, team building is on a constant improvement. Nothing will ever be “Done” – but we have an amazing way to keep on improving and optimizing and that is the way a company can succeed and built true value.
