Kids are always eager to make lasting memories, and this snorkeling trip will be one of them. Wendy and the kids wanted to escape the burning season in Chiang Mai, and were “bored” of the regular Hua Hin trip (where I did the mastermind) and picked Pattaya this time. Easy to get to with a 1 hour-ish ride from Bangkok airport, and tons of family friendly activities.
Today, Sunday April 6, 2025, we are focused on the snorkeling trip.

Another nearby city (1 hour-ish drive from Pattaya) we went to for an afternoon trip, arriving at 11:30am and taking a short truck ride to the pier for the snorkeling.
We had our own private boat, and a 3 hour trip (noon to 3pm) with a few different stops:

- Photo shoot – for the photos in this blog and memories
- Snorkeling – about 10 feet max depth, we floated along a coral reef – my daughter was so frightened by the sea urchin (noticing it has 1 rather massive eyeball looking around). Saw a lot of fish – able to feed them and have a swarm of fish surround you.
- Visit to “Nemo’s house” – there was 1 very specific location where on 1 rock, 2 clown fish (Nemo) lived. They seriously kept circling a small tip of a rock, and the various tour groups stopped by for photo opps.
- Hidden beach – a beautiful beach with no humans (though we did see some dogs).

What a memory indeed. Could have done a longer day trip but felt the 3 hours was sufficient as the kids were exhausted by the end.
I recommend it and hope this video helps out.
