Hosting a Seminar at General Assembly on Selling in China via Social Media

In china business, hong kong business by Michael MicheliniLeave a Comment

Continuing to educate and add value to the community of Western businesses to do business in China, I will be hosting a seminar with General Assembly in Hong Kong to help businesses learn how to more effectively enter the Chinese market and sell in China via social media. Also realize that is it possible to do so without a local Chinese company!

Interested to come, I’d be so honored! Its a 250hkd fee to attend, which I hope you think is fair. 🙂
You can book from the GA website –

I’m going to cover how to sell in China without a Chinese bank account, How to open a Sina Weibo account and get it verified, How to create a viral social media campaign on Chinese social media, and of course throw in a bunch of other awesome tidbits and the newest tips on Tencent Wechat (weixin) and other marketing and sales strategies in China. I’ll probably invite my assistant, Amy Gu, to come along and assist me in the classroom.

Here is the full information Allison posted about the event:

Everyone talks about the huge numbers in Chinese social media, but not many understand how to take advantage of them. One billion potential customers aren’t worth much if you don’t know how to build a strong, multi-platform social campaign that can take followers and convert them into paying customers. In this class, we will discuss the unique structure of China’s social media. You’ll learn how to utilize various platforms to create a viral that will help you grow your mainland China customer base, as well as create buzz around your product, and ultimately increase your sales.
