Ringing in 2026: Treehouse Resort Adventure, Campfire Magic, and Cherishing Family Time

This holiday season, I'm doing everything I can to embrace these last precious years of our kids' childhood. After our tradition of mountain camping at Christmas, we joined a group of close family friends for an unforgettable New Year's celebration at a treehouse resort to welcome 2026.

We arrived on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, just in time to settle in and ring in the new year together. The entire resort was booked exclusively for our network of families and friends—one magical night with dinner and breakfast included. Each family had their own private treehouse, making it feel like a luxurious escape in the treetops.

Our treehouse was surprisingly upscale: electricity, running water, modern bathrooms, and plenty of nice amenities. It was two stories tall with four beds, giving everyone their own space to relax and soak in the experience.

We even brought our bird along, and she joined in the festivities! The evening kicked off with a massive Thai feast, but the real highlight was the cozy campfire. We roasted marshmallows and made gooey s'mores under the stars—a perfect, simple joy.

Local regulations meant no fireworks, but that was fine by us. We kept things relaxed and low-key, easing into a fresh start for 2026.

I'm so glad we're making the most of these years with the kids. I keep reminding myself that once they hit their teens, they'll probably want more independence. This sweet spot—around 10 years old—is the last phase of that deep, close bonding we'll get in quite the same way.

We need to savor every moment, whether it's a big New Year's trip or just an ordinary day. We're truly blessed, and I felt especially grateful sharing this time with family and great friends.

Here's to an amazing 2026 for all of us—let's push our limits and make it count!
