Another year around the sun! As always, I like to take a moment to reflect on the milestones and achievements from the past year.
Last year, I celebrated my birthday with a side event during Bangkok Blockchain Week — right after an earthquake! This year, I’m keeping it much more low-key at home with my amazing family here in Chiang Mai. We’re staying indoors with the air filters running (thanks to the toxic burning season).
This afternoon, I’ll be playing Risk or Monopoly with the kids, followed by a buffet lunch at the mall and a movie together.
On a bigger note, I’m excited to share a major milestone: we’ve officially rebranded our podcast from Global From Asia to Global From Anywhere.
I started Global From Asia back in 2013. I remember being tempted to call it the “Hong Kong Business Podcast” (very glad I didn’t!). Even back then, I wanted to think bigger — going global from Asia, not just Hong Kong or China. I had a strong feeling that Southeast Asia was going to rise.
Now, more than 13 years later, Global From Anywhere (GlobalFromAnywhere.com) feels much more fitting. We’ve hosted events and meetups in nearly every corner of the globe, and with the world being so unstable and constantly changing, the new name perfectly captures our reality.
It aligns with the slogan of Mike’s Blog: It isn’t where you are — it’s where you want to go, and getting there.
Along with the name change, we’re also launching a brand new Live Stream TV show on Global From Anywhere! The first episode kicks off this Friday, April 10 (morning in Asia / Thursday, April 9 in the Western world).
