Retreat & Recharge: Exploring the Open House at Pirom House in Chiang Mai

In blog, motivation, travel, vlog by Michael Michelini

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, I had the privilege of attending the open house for Pirom House, a serene new venture by my friend and Chiang Mai business leader, Lone. Nestled in the tranquil jungle hills of Ban Pong, just off Samoeng Road, Pirom House is a haven designed for those seeking mindfulness and respite in an increasingly fast-paced, AI-driven world. In my latest vlog, I take you on a tour of this peaceful retreat and share insights from an interview with Lone, the visionary founder, about how you can stay for a month, a year, or even longer. Visit Pirom House to learn more.

A Vision for Tranquility

Lone’s journey to create Pirom House began five years ago when she first set her sights on this idyllic property. Despite delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, she recently secured a long-term lease and transformed the space into a retreat that embodies calm and simplicity. As Lone shared during our interview, Pirom House is more than just a place to stay—it’s a sanctuary for those feeling burnt out or craving a break from demanding careers. The property features six fully equipped units, complete with essentials like food and laundry services, but its true charm lies in its serene environment. Surrounded by the gentle sounds of birds, wildlife, and village life waking up each morning, it’s a place to reconnect with nature and find inner peace.

Lone’s Vision in Her Own Words

Here’s how Lone describes her vision for Pirom House:

I have recently moved up into the mountains just off Samoeng Road and am now living in a small resort tucked away in the jungle hills of Ban Pong, Chiang Mai. I have called my latest venture Pirom House. It is a peaceful retreat for those needing time to think, rest deeply, or create freely. A quiet mountain estate with traditional Thai houses, hidden among the gardens and jungle. Created for those who seek less—less noise, less pressure, less distraction.

The Open House Experience

The open house was a warm and inviting event, offering a firsthand look at Pirom House’s six units, each thoughtfully designed to blend traditional Thai aesthetics with modern comforts. Guests were treated to a delightful spread of food in what Lone calls the “living room,” a communal space that fosters connection among long-term residents. The atmosphere was one of calm celebration, marking the beginning of this unique retreat. Lone’s passion for creating a space where people can decompress and focus on well-being was evident throughout the event.

A Place to Stay and Reflect

Pirom House is tailored for long-term rentals, making it ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle for an extended period. Whether you’re seeking a month-long retreat to recharge or a year-long stay to immerse yourself in a slower pace of life, Pirom House offers a nurturing environment. The surrounding jungle and mountain setting, combined with the simplicity of the estate, makes it perfect for writers, artists, or anyone needing a quiet space to think and create.

Join the Journey

Lone extends an open invitation to visit Pirom House and experience its tranquility firsthand. The open house on June 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, was a beautiful introduction to this retreat, but the doors remain open for future guests. If you’re interested in staying at Pirom House or learning more, check out https://pirom-house.com/ or reach out via the RSVP link provided on the website.

Pirom House is more than a destination—it’s a lifestyle shift toward mindfulness, simplicity, and peace. I’m excited to see how Lone’s vision continues to inspire those who visit this hidden gem in Chiang Mai.
