As we enter the second half of 2023, a career changing announcement was just made – Loadpipe has Acquired PurseIO.
The deal is a career changer for me personally and all of our work and all of our projects. It represents the uniting of the ecommerce businesses we are in and the web3 / handshake businesses we are in.
It represents a whole new era in the way we see e-commerce being done in the future.
Bringing off-chain e-commerce and putting it on chain – onto a public blockchain.
It represents merging our community efforts in e-commerce and cross border trade (Global From Asia) with Handshake and web 3 (SkyInclude, Flamingo Handshake).
It represents working towards bringing the products and brands we sell on web2 ecommerce platforms (mainly Amazon) and working actively to develop a protocol that will allow us and other buyers and sellers to sell on the blockchain.
But most important – it represents empowering the communities – especially the seller community I’ve gotten to know and love over the decades – to not live in fear of losing their account or business overnight. It represents creating a support network and community that self governs and represents the best interests of the users – the actual buyers and sellers – not just the shareholders.
Loadpipe has been a “pipe dream” since 2007. Over those years it has evolved from an inventory management solution to a PPE mask group buying market, to now a protocol and blockchain. This latest iteration is a move of the web2 mindset to the web3 mindset. Rather than making a marketplace where you need an email username and password and are in a centralized company database – you are a member of the community and your data is yours and on the blockchain.
The announcement is just the beginning. It is the transformation of Purse, a popular way to use Bitcoin to buy on Amazon, into re-structuring into a 2 sided marketplace with the Global From Asia community of cross-border traders and sellers. It represents the buy and sell actions to fully happen on chain, and allow to be open and decentralized.
While this was a quiet announcement leading into a July 4 holiday weekend, it is a massive milestone on what is to come.
