For months, since we were up in Shenyang, we’ve been discussing with the family about taking at least a few days. The original plan was to go to the Shaolin temple, but the heavy rains and flooding there caused us to skip those plans.
Then we decided to come down to Shenzhen and I hoped to get a bit of time off before the kids started school. But then the factory visits, work, settling in, and other things kept coming up.
So Wendy helped “make it happen” and we took a weekend getaway to Huizhou city’s beach area where we stayed at her friend’s apartment. Just a simple weekend. No plan, just beach time, meet my friend Alicia for dinner, and get some much needed R&R (Rest and relaxation).
Felt a little guilty about doing and recording this. I do know many of my friends around the world are still in various forms of lockdown. However, we have all been through lockdowns in different times over the last couple of years, so it is all about timing.
We need to force ourselves to take some time off every once in a while. That is what happened here, and though I did sneak in some of my morning writing sessions, for the most part I did unplug. And typing this up on Monday morning, I am a bit recharged and ready to rock.
