Spartan Kids Thailand Chiang Mai 2026: Miles’ First Race & Family Adventure
My son Miles just completed his first Spartan Kids race here in Chiang Mai, and the whole family came out to cheer him on and capture the moment.
On Sunday morning, June 7, 2026, we headed to the Spartan Thailand Kids Marathon. It quickly became clear why this event has become such a favorite for families in Chiang Mai. We kept running into familiar faces, and the whole morning felt more like a community gathering than just a race.
For our first time, we chose the Open division instead of the Competitive category. That felt like the right way to start. The goal was not to chase rankings, but to let Miles enjoy the race, challenge himself, and finish feeling good about it.

A Great First Experience
The event was well organized from start to finish. The staff kept the energy high, the course was fun and manageable, and the atmosphere was full of encouragement.
What stood out most was how many kids were out there giving it everything they had. There was a good balance of challenge and fun, which made it enjoyable not only for the racers but also for the families watching from the sidelines.
Miles had a great time tackling the obstacles and running hard through the course. Seeing him cross the finish line smiling made the early start completely worth it.
Why We Will Likely Be Back
By the time it was over, we were already talking about doing it again next year. It feels like the kind of event that can easily become a family tradition.
Next time, we may take it a step further and have more of the family join in. Events like this are a great mix of activity, challenge, and shared memories, and that is hard to beat.
Final Thoughts
If you are in Thailand, or planning a family trip here, Spartan Thailand is definitely worth checking out. Their main site is spartan.com, and it is easy to find an event nearby or plan a trip around one.
I would recommend it to any family looking for something active, memorable, and genuinely fun to do together. For us, this first race was a great experience, and I do not think it will be the last.
