What Is Mike Michelini Up To Now: October 25 to 31, 2026

This past week was super intense. I was back on the road in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, the old stomping grounds, with my son Miles alongside for the adventure.

A video blog is in process. Stay tuned for that one. It has the ups and downs that a neat weekly note cannot really hold.

A new kind of investing

I got choked up seeing my son in the Huaqiangbei market, bargaining in Chinese for ESP32 PCB boards and kits.

It may be hard to understand if you do not have kids. I am sure other parents can relate. It felt like the ultimate investment. A new kind of investing, in my children.

He also spent time with the maker community there. A second-hand 3D printer came home with him. That moment is in the trip footage.

The road

We hosted a Cross Border Seller and Trader Dinner in Futian, Shenzhen on Thursday, October 22. It was a great room. I wrote it up here: Shenzhen cross-border dinner.

I also joined Tomer's Top Dog mastermind in Hong Kong.

One week until the room forms

All of it leads into Cross Border Summit, November 3 to 5 in Chiang Mai. It feels insane, and we seem more ready than ever. The team, the speakers, and the attendees are lining up beautifully.

The public home for it is Cross Border Summit 2026. Monday, November 2 is the pre-summit dinner in Chiang Mai. The venue is still being confirmed.

Back in Chiang Mai

This coming week I am back in Chiang Mai after more than a week of intense travel. I am settling in, and I am also diving straight into the last-minute stress of organizing the Summit.

What helps is the messages from friends who are coming. They say it is appreciated, and that it is a highlight of their year. That is empowering.
