What Is Mike Michelini Up To Now: August 2

This past week was one of those full office weeks: a lot of technical development, testing, feedback, and trying to turn many moving parts into systems that are stable enough for people to use.

GFAVIP Chat Reaches iOS 1.0.5

One of the biggest areas was GFAVIP Chat. We still call it a chat app, but it is becoming much more than chat. It is gradually becoming a home for our Global From Anywhere community and the different apps, tools, and experiences we have been building.

On iOS, we are now at version 1.0.5 after a couple more rounds of updates driven by user feedback. We have also continued working across Android and desktop. Thank you to everyone who tested the app and sent feedback. The most important thing now is not to rebuild everything endlessly. It is to hold a stable version, listen carefully, and make another build when the feedback identifies a real, reproducible problem.

Building a Leaner Human-and-Agent Team

There has also been another round of change in our team structure. Some people are moving on, we are hiring and interviewing, and we are reconsidering how a leaner company should operate.

The fascinating question is what should still be done by people, what can be handled by agents, and where people and agents should work together. It is exciting, but honestly, it can also be stressful. Team changes create uncertainty, while also forcing us to become clearer about ownership, communication, systems, and where human judgment creates the most value.

Bangkok Sourcing With Miles

This coming week, my son Miles and I are going on another business trip together—this time to Bangkok.

A lot of people enjoyed our Vietnam business-trip video from the HorizonAI Expo. Miles is coming with me again so he can see how products are actually developed: meeting people, asking questions, comparing options, and making decisions in the real world.

Developing the First Men's Face Cream

Our first serious product candidate for the Excalibur Brothers men's-care line is a men's face cream. We have also been developing a more specific face-moisturizer concept as a reference for what that first product could become. The team has identified four or possibly five factory candidates, but the factories are only one part of the work.

We also need formula development, supply-chain quality assurance, product testing, compliance, packaging, samples, pricing, lead times, and logistics. The Bangkok trip is about understanding how all those partners fit together—not simply choosing one supplier from a list.

If men's face cream is something you would like to test as an early user, or if you have useful experience and feedback in this category, please let us know. We would like to start building a small group of potential testers and early users.

We will also attend a business-networking event in Bangkok on August 6th. I do not have a public event name to share yet, but it adds another relationship-building element to the trip.

A More Participatory Cross Border Summit

Cross Border Summit is also becoming increasingly exciting. We are confirming more speakers and shaping new sessions around what an event should look like in this AI world.

Walking the actual room made the summit feel much more real. I could see the stage, projection screen, seating layout, and the room from an attendee's perspective instead of planning only from diagrams and photos.

We do note do not want people sitting passively and listening all day. We want practical discussions, operator skill-sharing, useful relationships, and more opportunities for attendees to build and solve real problems together. There are still decisions to make, but the energy is growing, and I think this year's Cross Border Summit will feel different.

The Week Ahead

So that is the week ahead: stabilizing GFAVIP Chat, working through a changing human-and-agent team, building a complex men's-care supply chain, returning to Bangkok with Miles, and preparing a more participatory Cross Border Summit.
