What Is Mike Michelini Up To Now: July 19 - 25, 2026

I am currently still on the road in Vietnam with my son Miles on a business trip. Yes, I am getting him to work.

It has been really cool bringing my 12-year-old along for an international business trip. I want to go to these business networking events, speak, host booths, and build new connections, but I also want to spend time with my family. My wife and daughter stayed home this time, and Miles raised his hand and opted in. So he has been shadowing me.

He is learning how I travel, how I organize my work day on the road, how booth setup and event conversations happen, and how I try to keep moving even when the schedule is full. The best business education is often on the ground.

Between work commitments, Miles and I also had time to explore Ho Chi Minh City together. Visiting the War Remnants Museum was a particularly sobering part of the trip and gave both of us a very different perspective on the city and its history.

This week's priorities

  1. HorizonAI Expo and Headless Empire: I spoke at HorizonAI Expo about using AI for business and shared the working operating system I am building under HeadlessEmpire.com. The goal is to make it one practical system that others can follow: a framework, an operating system, a learning path, and eventually a network of people working in this new headless way. There is so much noise around AI right now. For me the question keeps coming back to whether we can turn it into a practical OS for actually running and growing a business.   2. Cross Border Summit 2026 momentum: even in the middle of the slow summer season, we are getting more interest and support than I remember at this time of year. The team is working hard to app-ify the conference with software, bonuses, and better digital experiences for ecommerce sellers. November 3-5, 2026 in Chiang Mai. Register here.
  3. Ecommerce product work: Excalibur Brothers men's care is still moving through supplier research, packaging, and positioning. Akitai has new jewelry coming through the pipeline. Across the board we are working to streamline product research and launching as we hit the halfway point of the year.
  4. Advanced ecommerce seller dinner in Chiang Mai: this Thursday night we are putting together a dinner for advanced ecommerce sellers. See the event at tickets.gfavip.com/events/64. There are also discussions about more GFAVIP chapters in China and Bangkok.
